Barbed Wire by Allyson Seconds

BARBED WIRE by Allyson Seconds

DOGS HAVE NO HONOR

...and so they whine,

they seize what they can

they stalk the halls
with pads with clomps

Dogs have no Honor
and so they bark
they snarl, they growl
they click their uncut claws

Civilized Predators,
What can you say
About that?

Don't they, too,
have a right to live

What time is it now,
On the Animal Farm?

Death-o-Clock?
Fuck-o-Clock?

Packs of Rapists
Gentle Strays
Knowing only their breed,
their way

Savaging all else,
these hunted killers

I met a Dog once.

It said to me:
"You are a Fool.
You are a Fool.
You are a Fool.
...go away.
Die."

...etc.

One is lucky
to escape such things
But not enough so
to forget them.

K
by J de Salvo

Why do Kafka's
"Novels" never end?

The answer is simple:
He won't kill K.

There is no other
likely ending

Yet out of pure decency,
He just can't do it.

Can't bear to be the one
to Murder the Victim
