EDITORS


Lytton Bell

Lytton Bell has published four books, most recently Body Image. She has won five poetry contests, performed at many venues, and is member of Poetica Erotica. Her work has appeared in over two dozen publications and several anthologies. Bell earned a poetry scholarship to the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts in 1988 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bryn Mawr College in 1993. She is a civil servant by day.

Josh Fernandez

Josh Fernandez is a freelance writer for Spin.com, Boulder Weekly, San Antonio Current and the Sacramento News and Review. His poetry is widely published, and he continues to be a sought after reader and speaker – often asked to talk about ethnic diversity, abuse and addiction. Fernandez was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his poem "The Last Thing He Said." His first full-length collection of poems, Spare Parts and Dismemberment, was published by R.L. Crow in May 2011.

Cynthia Linville (Managing Editor/Designer)

Cynthia Linville teaches writing at California State University at Sacramento and frequently hosts and reads at poetry events both on her own and with Poetica Erotica. Linville's work has appeared in many publications and several anthologies. Her book of collected poems, The Lost Thing, is available from Cold River Press. The last poem in the book, “I am Fortune’s Ungraceful Daughter,” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2012. A music aficionado with a theater background, Cynthia is usually out and about supporting the arts in Sacramento and in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Scott Weiss

Scott Weiss’s writing has appeared in The Battered Suitcase, Poetalk and online at amphibi.us; he has also reviewed a book of poetry for the online publication, Electronic Poetry Review. Scott recently supplemented his BA in English with an MA in English Literature (both from California State University at Sacramento) and lives with his wife, Brenda, in Calaveras County where he is engaged in an ongoing effort to find balance between life’s demands and his aims as a creative writer.

John Abbott is a writer, musician, and English instructor who lives with his wife and daughter in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Michael P. Aleman

Michael P. Aleman is a retired English teacher and former Associate Professor of Education at Whitworth University who has a modest publishing portfolio of poetry and short stories. Occasionally his work is read over KPBX, Spokane Public Radio, in Spokane, Washington.

Myles Boisen

Myles Boisen is a recording engineer, album producer, professional musician, teacher and writer who lives in Oakland, California. His photography has appeared in print publications and on fashion and music websites. He regularly shows his work in Bay Area galleries. Surajit Chakravarty

Surajit Chakravarty's photographs have appeared in Asian Cha, The Adroit Journal, and Foundling Review. He also won two runners-up prizes at the 2012-13 Oxford University Flexible Cities Photo Competition.He holds a PhD from the University of Southern California and now teaches Urban Planning in Abu Dhabi.

Holly Day

Holly Day is a housewife and mother of two living in Minneapolis, Minnesota who teaches needlepoint classes for the Minneapolis school district and writing classes at The Loft Literary Center. Her poetry has recently appeared in Borderlands, Slant, and The Mom Egg, and she is the recipient of the 2011 Sam Ragan Poetry Prize from Barton College. Her most recently published books are Walking Twin Cities and Notenlesen für Dummies Das Pocketbuch, and her novel, The Trouble With Clare, is forthcoming from Hydra Publications in late 2013.

Michaelle Fiore 

Michaelle Fiore  graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration from the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  She primarily works with acrylic and digital paintings,  but explores other mediums often.  Portraiture and various creatures are found frequently throughout her work as well as scenes connecting the dream world to waking life.  She currently resides in New York City.

Taylor Graham

Taylor Graham is a volunteer search-and-rescue dog handler in El Dorado County, California. She has been included in the anthologies Villanelles and California Poetry: From the Gold Rush to the Present. Her book The Downstairs Dance Floor was awarded the Robert Philips Poetry Chapbook Prize, and she was a finalist in Poets & Writers’ California Writers Exchange.

Baxter Jackson

Baxter Jackson is an English Teacher at the Nizwa College of Applied Sciences in Oman. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys exploring his surroundings, traveling in the Middle East and freelance writing. His work has appeared in Lonely Planet and Matador Travel.

Sean Lause

Sean Lause teaches courses in The American Short Story, Composition and Medical Ethics at Rhodes State College in Lima, Ohio. His poems have appeared in Minnesota Review, Alaska Quarterly, Beloit Poetry Journal, Another Chicago Magazine, Sanskrit, Saranac Review, European Judaism and Pedestal.

Christopher Leibow

Christopher Leibow is a poet and visual artist. He has been published in numerous journals, including, Sugar House Review, Interim, Barrow Street, and Cricket Online Review. His art has appeared in Lumina, 491 Magazine and has been featured in Cha: A Journal of Asian Writing and OFZOOs. He currently lives in Salt Lake City with his girlfriend and their dog Penelope the Perpetual Wonder Pup and cat Count Orly.

John McKernan

John McKernan grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and recently retired from herding commas after teaching for many years at Marshall University. He lives — mostly — in West Virginia where he edits ABZ Press. His most recent book is Resurrection of the Dust (selected poems). His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Paris Review, Field, Antioch Review and elsewhere

Evan Myquest

Evan Myquest's work has appeared in national publications like Lummox to tiny micro publications like Blue Fur. He has lived in the Sacramento area for over 30 years with his wife Eva, after a river bluff Midwest upbringing— a very good place to come from, he thinks. He is 64 years old, loves collecting micro-press magazines, and frequents poetry readings.

B.Z. Niditch

B.Z. Niditchis a poet, playwright, fiction writer, and teacher. His work is widely published in journals and magazines throughout the world, including: Columbia: A Magazine of Poetry and Art; The Literary Review; Denver Quarterly; Hawaii Review; Le Guepard (France); Kadmos (France); Prism International; Jejune (Czech Republic); Leopold Bloom (Budapest);  Antioch Review; and Prairie Schooner, among others.  He lives in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Allyson Seconds

Allyson Seconds is a singer, musician and physical culturist with an artist's mind. She discovered photography studying sculpture at UC Davis and has since shot for several publications, bands, record labels, and gallery shows. Samantha Seto

Samantha Seto frequently writes poetry and aspires to take beautiful photos. She has been published in various journals and anthologies including Ceremony, Screech Owl, Overpass Books, Blue Hour, Carcinogenic Poetry, Soul Fountain, Ygdrasil, and Black Magnolias Journal. She is a careful listener who is often inspired by others' words. Samantha studies creative writing and is a third prize poet of the Whispering Prairie Press.

Brenda Yamen

Brenda Yamen is a Health Scientist and amateur photographer currently residing in Washington DC. She has loved photography since the age of 15 and goes nowhere without her trusty sidekick, Nigel the Nikon. Brenda's interest in photography occasionally crosses paths with her love of great music; her photos have been used by some of her favorite musicians. In addition to concert photography, Brenda enjoys landscape and nature photography, and travels extensively searching for her next photo op.
